Take One Picture Update

We were incredibly proud to have some of our art work inspired by George Bellows "Men of the Docks" exhibted as part of this exhibition.  Our original plan had been to arrange a trip to see the exhibiton in the National Gallery, however the current circumstances have prevented this happening.

Fortunately, we are able to share this link with you of the work exhibited.   I wonder if you can spot the wonderful work from our school?

A huge well done to everyone who took part in this. It really was a great acheivement to get our work accepted and we should be incredibly proud.

Congratulations!!!

Many of you will remember the wonderful art gallery that the children put on last summer, with work inspired by Men of the Docks by George Bellows. The work was part of a nationwide project run by The National Gallery. All the work was submitted to the National Gallery and received high praise from the organisers of the project who were impressed with breadth and depth of the project and all the cross-curricular work that linked to the art work.  After submitting all the work to the gallery we are really pleased to announce that some of it has been selected to be exhibited at The National Gallery as part of the Take One Picture project.  The bunting produced by Key Stage One will be displayed as part of the exhibition along with the horse information booklets that the children produced.

Currently, we are still waiting for a date for the exhibition which has been postponed due to the current situation but we just wanted to say a huge well done to all the children at Tudor Primary School.  It really is a wonderful achievement and we are incredibly proud of you.

Take One Picture Project

The Take One Picure Project was an exciting year long project that we undertok after attending some training at the National gallery in London in the Autumn term.

The whole school chose a picture and created work from this picture for the half term. The picture we chose was 'Men of the Docks' by Goerge Bellows.

The work covered all areas of the curriculum. it was astonishing to see how many different areas of study the children chose to focus on from the same picture. Some classes chose to work on the sea, some on industrial development, some on clothing and fashion, some on ships and sea travel through history, some on the use of animals throughout history, the list goes on.

Please take amoment to look through the photos above which are from our art exhibition we held at the end of the summer term 2019.

Our work may be exhibited at the National Gallery in London later on in the year. If so we will let you all know!! And of course we will all go on a school trip to see it!!
