We have a current vacancy for a morning caretaker at Tudor. Our caretaker is an essential part of our school team and we value their work enormously.

We need someone to work for 2 hours each morning between 6am and 8am.

School Morning Caretaker

  • Salary: FTE £26016 Grade 2.4 pro rata
  • Hours:2 hours daily in the morning 6-8am term time only
  • Start Date: Immediately (following successful enhanced DBS)
  • Reports to: Headteacher and/or Office manager

 

Job Description

 

 Main Purpose of the Job

To prepare the school for opening to children and staff, to undertake essential maintenance and statutory checks each day and week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend relevant training as directed.
  • Unlock the outside gates
  • Unlock all rooms inside the school
  • Bring fruit in
  • Bring in mail from mailbox and leave in reception
  • Check and sweep if necessary the tennis courts & playing field for debris/broken glass
  • Check all outside areas
  • Clean up bird droppings from artificial grass
  • Blower leaves away at back off school play area/under canopy
  • Check woodland area
  • Sweep & tidy up quiet area outside school hall
  • Make sure the areas under canopy (new school side) are kept clean
  • Check all outside bins and change them when needed
  • Blow the large playground clear of leaves when required
  • Litter pick when required

 

 

Person Specification

Qualifications and training

  • Basic education (literacy and numeracy skills)
  • Willingness to undertake training in statutory building checks
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)

Experience

  • Previous caretaking experience in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential

Skills and knowledge

  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and regulations (desirable but training provided if needed)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
